What is toxin?
It is Botulinum Toxin that is injected into the muscle.
What are the most common uses for toxin?
Botulinum toxin is widely used to reduce the appearance of fine lines on the face including the crow’s feet, forehead, between the eyes “11’s“. By inhibiting or reducing muscle contraction this will result in smoother looking skin.
How long does Toxin last?
It will take 2 weeks post injection to see full effect. For most patients it will last about 3 months, around 2.5 months you will start to see more movement. Some people metabolize it faster and some metabioize it slower. After your treatment we recommend no Exercise for 24 hours, no bending or laying down for 4 hours,
How does Toxin work?
It temporarily will inhibit muscle activity by blocking the release of acetylcholine a neurotransmitter responsible for muscle contraction.
What should I expect during my treatment, and is it painful?
It all begins with a consultation and examination of your unique anatomy. After the consultation a treatment plan will be formulated. Most patients tolerate the injections well, if you are more timid- you can ask for some numbing cream before the injections, and we will talk you through the procedure.
Are there any side effects?
Toxin is very tolerated by most of the public. You may experience some pain or discomfort, bruising may occur and may take 7-14 days to resolve, some swelling at the injection site, Allergic reactions are rare, please let your provider know if you are allergic to Albumin or Eggs.
